Interdisciplinary Summer Undergraduate Research Experience

Summer Research Program for Northeastern Illinois University Students*

The Chemistry of Life Processes Institute’s Interdisciplinary Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (I-SURE) is designed to provide more opportunities for interdisciplinary biomedical research training for undergraduates from across the Chicago area. The program also creates a pathway for local students to apply to Northwestern graduate programs and the CLP Predoctoral Training Program.

I-SURE partners with Northeastern Illinois University, whose northwest side campus attracts students from throughout the city and suburbs, to provide their students with interdisciplinary research training and mentorship opportunities in CLP laboratories. The 8-week summer program enables students to gain research skills and confidence, provides insight into research careers, and improves readiness for postgraduate education and employment.

*NU students are not eligible to apply.
