Title: Northwestern High Throughput Analysis Core User Spotlight Series: ‘hiPSC Models of Sudden Cardiac Death’

Speaker: Malorie Blancard, PhD, Postdoctoral Fellow, Department of Pharmacology, Feinberg School of Medicine, Northwestern

Description: We are modeling sudden cardiac death risk prediction using patient-specific human iPSC-derived cardiomyocytes (hiPSC-CMs). Sixty individuals have been recruited and classified ranging from healthy controls with no known cardiac disease to individuals that show the highest SCD risk. Contractility and electrophysiological properties of hiPSC-CMs were measured using high-throughput systems such as ‘Flexcyte 96’ (Nanion).
