The High Throughput Analysis Core (NU-HTA) has an immediate opening for a Research Associate to perform research related to analysis of cell signaling and drug discovery.

NU-HTA is a shared, open-access resource established in 2004 on the Northwestern University campus. The Core is one of a suite of analytical, imaging and preclinical translation cores operating under the umbrella of the Chemistry of Life Processes Institute (CLP). The HTA Laboratory provides academic, industrial, and private researchers with equipment and expertise for the development and execution of high throughput biological analysis and screening. The facility is fully equipped with state-of-the-art liquid handling and microplate detection instrumentation.

Responsibilities:

  • Support user projects by working with students, postdocs and faculty to develop workflows and data that lead to grant applications and publications
  • Advance and maintain our overall commitment to outstanding life sciences research.
  • Develop and refine cell-based and biochemical assays that are amenable for large-scale experiments.
  • Leverage experience in life science research to expand facility capabilities and develop research projects.
  • Potential to act as PI or co-PI on research proposals based in NU-HTA and CLP.

Minimum qualification:

  • D in life science or related field
  • Or – MSc with appropriate level of experience

  • Rigorous approach to experimental design, implementation and data analysis
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adhere to deadlines
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Excellent aseptic skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Competencies:

  • Previous experience in cell signaling, CRISPR, engineered cell lines, flow cytometry and cancer biology a plus
