Strategies & Tactics for Biologics Drug Discovery

Venue: Pancoe Auditorium

Abstract:

My talk will describe recent development of biological drug leads. I will first describe how evolution of the first synthetic RNA recognition motif led to the discovery of a potent inhibitor of HIV proliferation. Next I will describe how questions about helix stability and protein engineering led to potent inhibitors of HIV infection. Finally, I will describe recent efforts in my lab to develop novel protein evolution platforms, including continuous evolution in an easy to access format.
